Post 10427 Membership Committee membership@vfw10427.org Post 10427 Membership Application VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS ELIGIBILITY WORKSHEET To qualify for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, an individual must meet the following TWO requirements: 1: Honorable Service – must have served in the Armed Forces of the United States and either received a discharge of Honorable or General (Under Honorable Conditions) or be currently serving. 2: Service in a war, campaign, or expedition on foreign soil or in hostile waters. This can be proven by any of the following: An authorized campaign medal (see other side for a list of qualifying medals and badges) Receipt of Hostile Fire Pay or Imminent Danger Pay (verified by a military pay statement) Service in Korea for 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days This information is usually available through a veteran’s DD-214. If other information is needed or if a veteran’s DD-214 is not complete, they can contact the National Personnel Records Center at 314-801-0800 or online at http://www.archives.gov/veterans/evetrecs/ to request more information. It is imperative that we verify the eligibility of every member that signs up for the VFW, not only to comply with our Bylaws but also to maintain the integrity of the organization. Traffic volume has increased significantly due to heavy-duty rock haulers operating throughout the day, creating heightened risk for vehicles turning in or out of VFW Road. Post leadership has been in direct communication with Key Construction regarding the condition of VFW Road from 2243 to the Post. Key Construction has committed to the following actions: • Regular sweeping of the roadway from the VFW entrance to Ranch Road 2243 to remove debris and improve driving safety. • Full repair of all construction‑related damage to VFW Road, restoring it to its previous condition—or better—upon completion of their project. All drivers are urged to remain alert, reduce speed, and watch for trucks, loose gravel, and changing road conditions at all times. Honor a veteran in your life by joining the VFW Auxiliary. Eligibility Requirements for VFW Auxiliary Membership Members must be at least 16 years old . Those eligible are: Husband/Wife Widower/Widow Father/Mother Grandfathers/Grandmothers Sons/Daughters Grandsons/Granddaughters Brothers/Sisters of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Those eligible for membership in the VFW are those that have received a campaign medal for overseas service; have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever received hostile fire or imminent danger pay. 2025 Winners of the VFW Youth Scholarship and Teacher of the Year Dear Comrades, I hope you will join us at February Steak Night (February 20) as we recognize winners of the VFW Youth Scholarship and Teacher of the Year. This year, students were invited to respond to the prompt, “How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?” Students in grades 6–8 participated in the essay-writing contest, while students in grades 9–12 participated in both the essay and audio contest. Post 10427 Awards Presentation VFW Post 10427 will award more than $3,000 in monetary scholarships to this year’s winners. Those eligible are: Husband/Wife Widower/Widow Father/Mother Grandfathers/Grandmothers Sons/Daughters Grandsons/Granddaughters Brothers/Sisters of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Those eligible for membership in the VFW are those that have received a campaign medal for overseas service; have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever received hostile fire or imminent danger pay. 📋 Booking, Cancellation, and Waitlist Policies for Monthly RV, Boat, and Storage Rentals 1. Booking Policy 1.1. Reservation Process How to Book: Reservations can be made online, by phone, or in person. All bookings are for a minimum term of one (1) month. Advance Booking: Reservations are accepted up to 60 days in advance and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Required Documentation: Valid government-issued photo ID For RV/Boat: Proof of ownership, registration, and insurance For Storage: Proof of insurance (optional but recommended) Deposit: RV/Boat: A non-refundable deposit equal to one night’s stay or 25% of the monthly fee is required to secure the booking. Storage: A one-time administrative fee is required; no security deposit is collected. Booking Confirmation: Bookings are confirmed in writing (email or portal) upon receipt of the deposit and required documentation. 1.2. Rental Terms Minimum Stay: One (1) month. Lease Type: Month-to-month, automatically renewing unless notice is given. Utilities: For RV sites, metered electricity is billed separately. 2. Cancellation Policy 2.1. Notice Requirements & Refunds Deposit: All deposits are non-refundable. Full Refund: If cancellation notice is given before the notice period, any pre-paid rent (excluding deposit) will be refunded. Late Cancellation: Cancellations made after the notice period forfeit the deposit and any pre-paid rent for the month. No Prorated Refunds: No refunds for early move-out or partial months once the rental period has started. Force Majeure: Refunds will be issued for cancellations due to force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters, government orders). 2.2. Special Considerations Peak Season: Stricter notice periods or higher deposits may apply during peak demand months or special events. Documentation: All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing (email or portal). 3. Waitlist Policy 3.1. Waitlist Enrollment When to Join: If no space is available, customers may join the waitlist for their desired unit type (RV, Boat, or Storage). How to Join: Waitlist requests are accepted online or in person. A refundable waitlist fee may be required to secure a spot. 3.2. Waitlist Management Prioritization: Waitlist order is determined by the date and time of request. Priority may be given to returning customers or premium members. Notification: When a space becomes available, the next person on the waitlist is notified via email/SMS. Response Window: Customers have 24–48 hours to confirm and pay the required deposit. Failure to respond within this window results in the offer passing to the next person on the list. Waitlist Expiration: Customers who do not respond or decline an available space are removed from the waitlist or moved to the bottom. Regular Updates: Periodic emails will be sent to confirm continued interest and keep the waitlist current. 4. Legal & Compliance Notes Transparency: All fees, deposits, and cancellation terms are clearly disclosed in the rental agreement. Insurance: Renters are responsible for maintaining insurance on all stored property. Proof of insurance is required for RV and Boat rentals. Accessibility: The facility complies with ADA requirements for accessible parking, routes, and amenities.
